Simon joined BioSymetrics in February 2021, with a background in immunology (PhD) and computer science and microbiology (BSc). After his PhD he stayed on at SickKids Toronto, working as a bioinformatician on pediatric arthritis. His research on unsupervised learning has been published in PLOS Medicine and Arthritis & Rheumatology. Prior to grad school, Simon gain industry experience at companies such as BlackBerry. While the current circumstances make it difficult, he hopes to get involved with teaching and mentoring in the near future.
