Dave Kokel, PhD

VP of Discovery Biology

Dave is a geneticist, chemical biologist, inventor, and recognized pioneer in phenotype-based drug-discovery. Prior to joining BioSymetrics, Dave held successive professorships at Harvard Medical School and UC San Francisco where his research focused on neurobiology, drug discovery, and large-scale phenotyping technologies. Dave is a widely published biotech co-founder and holds multiple patents. A key goal of his research is to understand relationships between compounds, targets, and phenotypes for the discovery of novel drugs with complex physiological mechanisms across cardiovascular and neurological diseases. At BioSymetrics, Dave's focus is on combining machine learning, reproducible research, and phenotype-based drug discovery.
